Hi everyone!  I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday season with family and friends.  My holidays were filled with lots of time with family, traveling, and food.

Now that life is starting to have some normalcy again, I had some time to run errands today and in the midst of the craziness that comes with errands, I snapped a picture of my everyday essentials.

essential .1.

the “it” purse : celine micro luggage tote in dune – chic, classic, practical. since its debut in 2010, the celine luggage tote has been a staple in the closets of fashionistas, celebrities, and socialites.  finding a celine luggage tote in the color you want is like finding a dollar on the ground… it happens but not everyday. and when it happens, you want to tell everyone.  finding a celine MICRO luggage tote is like finding an andrew jackson on the ground… it RARELY happens.. but when it does, you decide you might just be the luckiest girl alive that day.  that’s because the micro size isn’t available in abundance in the states.  the micro size, as i’ve learned the hard way, was marketed almost solely in asia for a very long time as the purse is about 3-5 lbs lighter and a bit smaller in size than the original luggage tote making the size and weight more flattering for women of smaller stature.  after being on a waiting list for about 6 months, i took my chances and waltzed into the celine store on madison and 70th last week.  lo and behold, they had just gotten a huge shipment and ta-da, the micro luggage was mine!  it’s my go-to purse for everyday living because it’s roomy and functional while looking chic and sophisticated… worth every penny, in my opinion!

essential .2.

a bright accessory : j.crew scarf – a pop of color is necessary for those dreary winter days.  i don’t know about you but when i wake up in the morning and open the shades, i hate the drab and darkness winter mornings bring.  as i get ready in the mornings, i try to incorporate some sort of color into my outfit, whether it be a bright piece of jewelry or in this case, a pop of color in the form of a scarf.  AND it keeps me warm – double duty! i get so many compliments whenever i wear this scarf!

essential .3.

a sweet treat : ice cream – who doesn’t love a good soft serve after a long day? everyone deserves a treat at some point in the day and today, a vanilla cone was mine :)

what are some of your essentials? i’d love to hear!

Hi everyone!

So today is one of my favorite days during the Holiday season – the day after Christmas!  You’ve already decided what you want to keep, what you want to return, and what to do with those ever-convenient gift cards!  The best part of it all is that almost EVERYTHING goes on sale!  I’ve searched through some of my favorite websites and picked out a few chic items I’ve fallen in love with.  The world of online shopping is never-ending so I hope this list helps to narrow things down.  Happy shopping!

1. asos club l color block dress – color blocking:  been there, done that.. but something about this is very classic and the back of this dress is a nice surprise.

I also love the fact that the green/black combination is reminiscent of the gucci spring 2011 collection seen belowImage

2.  london rebel shoe boot from asos

ImageMove over, LBD.  There’s a new lbb in town- little black bootie.  Every girl needs one and here, we have the perfect LBB.  I love the heel height offset by the platform front which makes it much easier to navigate the streets of manhattan (and if you can walk in heels in manhattan, you can do it anywhere).  The gold detail gives the booties a little “oomph” that makes them appear more expensive than they are.

3. elizabeth and james koni blouse

just a little something for a rainy day.  i love the sequin detail, the cuff puff sleeves, and the sheer material.  this can easily go from date night, paired with skinnies and booties to nye extravaganza, with (p)leather pants, strappy sandals.  issay.com is currently offering a 40% off with the code: isaay40

4. h&m blazer

Image

at just $29.95, you can’t beat the price! h&m has taken the classic chanel tweed blazer and added their own twist with the asymmetrical zipper and pocket detail.  pair this with just about anything; skinnies, skirt, booties, boots, strappy sandals…and the list goes on! and lucky for you, h&m has finally decided to launch online shopping so you can beat the holiday crowd!

that’s it for now.  if i come across anything else, i’ll definitely post it on here.  have you found any good post-holiday deals? please share!

casual chic
I love this outfit because you can incorporate summer and spring pieces into a transitional fall/winter outfit.  The white James Perse tank and red J Brand skinnies can easily make an outfit in itself… but chic it up a bit by adding a leather jacket, some cute booties, a cozy scarf, and a statement bag (shown here: reed krakoff “boxer” tote, one of my favorites).  I love a simple ponytail wrapped in a bow with this outfit to contrast the strong leather/booties aspect. This is definitely an outfit I can wear for lunch with the girls or a casual dinner date with my boyfriend :)

Hi everyone!  I’m so excited to begin my journey into the chic world of fashion blogging! I’ve wanted to start a blog for a very long time and with encouragement from a few friends, I thought, “Why not?”  So here I am, Fashion World!  I will be sharing my favorite outfits, nifty fashionable tidbits, and of course the many things that inspire me so stay tuned!
